How network problems prevented Obama from calling President Jonathan twice

Both Presidents Barack Obama and Goodluck Jonathan wanted to talk on phone, but twice calls from the White House to Aso Rock failed to make the connection.
Authoritative sources confirmed during the week that efforts by President Obama to personally speak with Jonathan to return his congratulatory message has been aborted at least twice by the failure of the telephone system in Aso Rock.
After Obama’ s second-term election victory three weeks ago, President Jonathan was among the first world leaders to congratulate him, offering him a hand of fellowship.
In response to the congratulatory messages, Obama on the Thursday of the same election week, started calling back some of the world leaders, who had congratulated him, to appreciate their letters and words of felicitation.
At least, three White House press statements by Press Secretary, Jay Carney, since the week of the election, have listed names of leaders Obama has been able to speak to in return for their congratulatory messages. Based on those statements made available to The Guardian, the US President has not been able to reach out to the Nigerian president.
But US sources confirmed that President Jonathan is one of those Obama was personally keen on talking to, in acknowledgement of their early congratulatory messages.
Specifically, on Monday November 12, according to US sources, White House officials, having coordinated with the US Embassy in Nigeria, and the Nigerian Embassy in the US, got a number to call Aso Rock, but, on two occasions on that day, both calls were simply not picked up, causing a diplomatic embarrassment for Aso Rock. The number had been given by Aso Rock officials to enable President Obama reach President Jonathan.

A source explained that what should have been done, as is normal in diplomatic etiquette, is for the Nigerian President to have a hotline to reach leaders of other countries that are strategic to the country, so that such important calls are easily facilitated.
Sources close to the Nigerian Foreign Affairs Ministry confirmed the practice and put the blame squarely on Aso Rock telephone system and some of its operators and officials.
Nigeria’s Ambassador to the US, Prof Adebowale Adefuye, confirmed that the US President wants to talk to Jonathan since after the election, but stated that it is yet to happen.
But he quickly added that the plans were still being worked out to make it a reality. He explained further that during this past week, President Obama was away in Asia and then returned for the Thanksgiving celebrations, a big holiday, which Americans mark every third Thursday in November. In most cases in the US, the holiday starts on the preceding Wednesday (November 21) until the following week, which is Monday, November 26.

Chris Brown launches VILE attack over Rihanna on Twitter before deleting his account.

Chris unleashed filth online, like the ignorant tit that he is truly is

Chris Brown has deleted his Twitter account following a disgusting attack on a woman who hit out at the star over his violent past.
He had been having a pretty good day, with Rihanna tweeting a snap of him in bed - essentially confirming their romance.
When the picture appeared to rile a number of people online, Chris simply wrote 'Just ask Rihanna if she mad??????' before cracking on with things.
But when someone responded to another of his tweets in a negative manner, it's safe to say the singer lost it. Like, really lost it.
When Chris wrote the message 'I look old as f***! I'm only 23...', writer Jenny Johnson replied: 'I know! Being a worthless piece of s*** can really age a person'.

Rihanna Tweeted This Snap Yesterday
Well, Chris didn't think that was very funny.
He told her in response: 'Take them teeth out when u sucking my d*** HOE.'
Hmm, vile and sexist. A solid start from Chris there.
He continued: 'mom says hello... She told me not to s*** in ur mouth, wanted me to s*** right on the retina.
'I should fart while ur giving me t**.'
Oh Chris. Talk about proving someone right.
Following the entirely disgusting outburst - which just goes to show how truly undeserving Chris is (of Rihanna, fame, his millions and his nice dog) - Jenny Johnson just laughed it off.
She wrote: 'It's "HO" not "HOE" you ignorant f***.'
'I have zero respect for a person who seems unapologetic for the terrible crime he committed and shows no signs of changing.
And she finished off with: 'Okay. I'm done. All I got from that exchange with Chris Brown is that he wants to s*** and fart on me'.
Meanwhile Rihanna was busy hanging out wit Fans in London outside the X-Factor
Many of us are struggling to move on from the attack, even if Rihanna has forgiven Chris
Minutes after his vile attack, Chris decided/was blatantly forced to delete his account, no doubt hanging his head while he got a huge telling off by his management.
Meanwhile, Rihanna retweeted the message: 'Beautiful things happen when you distance yourself from negative shit.'
She doesn't help herself, does she?

There is no friction between the president and Chief Obasanjo – Oyinlola.

(L) Chief Olusegun Obasanjo & President Goodluck Jonathan (R)
Contrary to the rumour making the rounds that there’s a rift between former president, chief Olusegun Obasanjo and his supposed political godson, President Goodluck Jonathan, the national secretary of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola, over the weekend, dismissed the hearsay.
Oyinlola, made this known while addressing newsmen at Okuku, his hometown, during the formal launching of a foundation named after his father, Oba Moses Oyewole Oyinlola.
He disclosed that it was deceptive to say that Obasanjo and Jonathan were having political differences, stressing that, “some individuals want to use the controversy surrounding the Odi killings to set the two leaders of the PDP against each other.”

He noted that President Jonathan and Obasanjo remain strong members of the ruling party and are committed to the growth and development of Nigeria.

He said: “There is no friction between the president and Chief Obasanjo. The issue of Odi killings will not cause hostility between the two leaders of our party. I think the media blew the issue out of proportion. President Jonathan and Chief Obasanjo are both working for the betterment of this great nation and for the good of the entire citizenry,” he said.

Asked about his view on the current political developments in his state, the former governor said, “I will not talk about Osun State now. I was the governor of the state for seven and a half years. Somebody is there now. Just compare and contrast. No matter what I say now, they will politicise it. So, let the people judge.”

Speaking on the legacy left behind by his late father, Oba Moses Oyewole Oyinlola, which prompted the setting up of the foundation, he said: “when I became a politician in 2001, I embarked on campaign trips across Osun State.

I came back to my hometown to tell my siblings that our late illiterate father had done so much to the extent that anywhere I got to during my campaign, I was warmly embraced because of the good things that he did.”

Man destroys lover’s body with acid over access to child.

Nemesis has finally caught up with a lover man, David Suleiman who allegedly disfigured the face and body of his ex-lover, Chika Egbo, with acid for refusing him access to his son.
CNB gathered that the culprit who is currently cooling his feet at the State Criminal Investigation Department, Panti, Yaba, Lagos, attacked his ex-girlfriend, a 300 level student at Enugu State College of Education, with acid for refusing him access to their only child.
It was learnt that the tragic drama began for the estranged couple when Egbo became pregnant for Suleiman, but he abandoned her at such delicate condition, claiming he went abroad. Thus, the girl had no choice than to take full responsibility of herself and that of the unborn baby.
However, few months after a successful delivery, the run-away lover returned requesting to see the baby but he was refused access to the child.
A reliable source, who wouldn’t want her name mentioned by the press, squealed that desperate Suleiman tricked the 25 year-old student from Enugu to a hide-out in Ikotun, Lagos state, where he committed the inhuman act.
“An Okada rider who witnessed the incident went after Suleiman, but while he chased him, Suleiman emptied the can of acid on the Okada rider, who held him strongly waiting for help.
Other Okada riders who drove by saw what was happening and they came to his rescue and eventually took Suleiman to Ikotun police station while the Okada rider and Egbo were rushed to a hospital”, she said.
The victim is presently suffering from first degree burns and lying critically ill at the emergency unit of the Lagos State Teaching Hospital, LASUTH.

BRT bus full of passengers falls into Lagos Lagoon from 3rd Mainland Bridge.

The Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC), has confirmed that a BRT bus, that was conveying passengers across the Third Mainland Bridge, has fallen off, into the Lagos Lagoon.
The FRSC relayed this information via its Twitter account. It posted: “A fully loaded BRT bus fell off the 3rd mainland bridge into the Lagos lagoon, 26-11-12. Rescue work in progress. Motorists be cautious.”
It will recalled that the bridge – which is the longest in West Africa – was re-opened on November 6, after it was partially closed down for repair works, that lasted over three months.

Ojukwu's family Go To Court Over Property Control.

The  silent war between Ambassador Bianca Ojukwu, widow of the late Ikemba Nnewi, Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu, and Directors of Ojukwu Transport Limited, OTL, who are brothers of her late spouse, has blown open as both parties have dragged themselves before High Courts of Lagos state to determine who controls the landed property belonging to the company.

This came even as the family had concluded plans to mark the first anniversary of Ojukwu’s death at Nnewi today. The former Biafran warlord died on November 26, 2011 at a Londonhospital at the age of 78.

Late Odumegwu Ojukwu

Crisis had been brewing between Mrs. Ojukwu and her late husband’s brothers over the control of some property which were left by their late father, Eze Odumegwu Ojukwu, under his company’s name, OTL, for decades. The late Ikemba Nnewi was one of the directors of the company and apart from living in one of the property at Ikoyi which he vacated and relocated toEnuguover 10 years ago, Ojukwu was also involved in managing some of the property.

These property which were at a time compulsorily acquired by the Federal Government were later released to OTL and the late Dim Ojukwu continued to manage some of them until his demise last year.

The property in contention
The property include those situated at 58, Ibadan Street, Ebute Metta, Yaba, Lagos; 29, Queens Drive, Ikoyi, Lagos where Ojukwu once resided, 41 Macpherson Avenue, Ikoyi, Lagos, 13 Hawksworth Road, Ikoyi, Lagos, 14 Probyn Road, Ikoyi, Lagos, 2A and 2B Park Close, Apapa, Lagos, 32A Commercial Avenue, Yaba, Lagos, Nnewi Building, 1/3 Creek Close, Apapa, Lagos, 120 Agege Motor Road, Mushin, Lagos, 4A and 4B Park Close, Apapa, Lagos, 196 Igbosere Road, Lagos, 15 Oshodi Street, Lagos and 15/16 Forces Avenue, Port Harcourt.

After the death of Ojukwu, the Ojukwu Transport Limited was left with six directors namely Professor Joseph Ojukwu, Engr. Emmanuel Ojukwu, Lotanna Putalora Ojukwu, Dr. Patrick Ojukwu, Arc. Edward Ojukwu and Lota Akajiora Ojukwu while an Estate Management Consultant, Mr. Massey Udegbe of Massey Udegbe & Company was appointed by the directors to manage the property.

Bianca goes to court
However, in a suit number LD/1539/12 filed at the Lagos High Court on October 9, 2012, Mrs. Bianca Ojukwu’s two sons, Afemefuna and Nwachukwu Ojukwu, claimed that they were entitled to the possession of the property known as 29, Oyinka Abayomi Street formerly 29, Queens Drive, Ikoyi, Lagos “until the harmonization of the management and administration of the assets of the 1st Defendant (OTL).”

They urged the court to declare that the forceful ejection of the claimants from the said property was illegal just as they also asked the court to declare that they were entitled to the possession of the property known as 13, Hawksworth Road, Ikoyi, Lagos; 32A, Commercial Avenue, Yaba, Lagos; 30, Gerard Road, Ikoyi, Lagos and 4, Macpherson Avenue, Ikoyi, Lagos, which they claimed, had been under the possession of their late father.

Mrs. Ojukwu, who sued on behalf her two sons, further sought an order of the court to restrain the defendants or their agents from interfering with the “Claimants’ possession and control of 29, Oyinka Abayomi Street (formerly Queens Drive) Ikoyi, Lagos” as well as the aforementioned four property also situated in Lagos.

…OTL, too
But in a twist, the OTL filed a fresh suit number LD/1680/2012 on November 1, 2012 also before a Lagos High Court against Mrs. Ojukwu, claiming possession of the property known as 29, Queens Drive, Ikoyi, Lagos which comprised two-storey detached house in addition to the payment of N40 million being expected rentable value per annum of the said premises from September 27, 2012, until the defendant gives up possession of the property.

In addition, the OTL demanded the payment of N100 million as damages from Mrs. Ojukwu as well as 21 per cent interest on the accrued sum until judgment was given and five per cent until the entire sum was fully liquidated.
In a 15-paragraph statement of claim brought by its counsel, Ifeanyi Okumah, OTL claimed ownership of the property at 29, Queens Drive, Ikoyi, Lagos, explaining that its agent appointed managing agent had asked Mrs. Ojukwu to handover physical possession of the property to him but she refused.

The company said despite disclaimers published in some national dailies warning the general public to deal with the managing agent appointed by it, Mr. Massey Udegbe and subsequent letters to the occupiers of the property to vacate and hand over the keys to the owner (OTL) or its agent, the defendant (Bianca) refused to hand over the property, a development that has denied the company N40 million rent it would have collected on the said property.

Tenants in confusion
Following the two legal actions, some tenants of the said property were thrown into confusion as to who to pay their rents and this prompted one of the occupants of 30, Gerrard Road, Ikoyi, Lagos, West Africa Offshore Limited to drag Mr. Emmanuel Omuojine, the managing agent appointed by the late Ojukwu, Mr. Massey Udegbe, who was appointed managing agent by OTL and the company (OTL) itself before the Lagos High court.

The company which claimed to have paid N40 million to Mr. Omuojine on behalf of OTL as five-year tenancy in 2007, sought an order of the court directing the payment of N24 million representing two years rent from March 16, 2012 to March 15, 2014 in respect of the said property and for same to be lodged into an interest yielding account in the name of the Chief Registrar of the High Court pending the resolution of the disputes between the parties.

By the new development, both Mrs. Ojukwu and the directors of OTL, would have to wait for the determination of the various suits on the contentious property before they could further benefit from them.

Meanwhile, the first anniversary is expected to be observed at Ojukwu’s family compound at Nnewi today though the family members are at loggerheads over who controls the property left behind by their late multi-millionaire father, Sir Louis Philip Odumegwu Ojukwu who died in 1966.

Married Man City star Kolo Toure tricked student into affair by claiming to be a car salesman.

Curtain call: Lover Kessel took this snap of Toure in her flat

Married Premier League star Kolo Toure had a lengthy affair with a young model – after tricking her into believing he was a car salesman.
The Manchester City defender told pretty Kessel Kasuisyo his name was Francois and showered her with expensive gifts he claimed he bought with cash he made selling motors, she claims.
And in a desperate bid to keep his real identity secret, she says, the £90,000-a -week star would sneak into her council flat wearing sunglasses with a baseball cap pulled over his face.
Smitten Toure, 31, kept up the astonishing facade for two years.
He married the mother of his two children during the alleged affair and even carried out a bizarre pretend proposal to Kessel, 22 – getting down one one knee to give her a £1,000 diamond ring.
But the game was up for the Ivory Coast international – who portrays himself as a devoted family man – when one of his mistress’s pals recognised him.
She told Kessel to Google her car salesman boyfriend’s real name – and the shocked beauty found Toure’s wedding pictures online.
Speaking to the Sunday Mirror, Kessel says: “I am devastated. On some of the wedding pictures he is crying but a few weeks before he was in my bed.
Kolo Toure
“Two or three weeks after the wedding he was at mine. Around the time he got married he called and said he was back in Africa and had just sold two cars.
“I believed everything he said, I am hurt and confused by it all. Maybe he wanted me to be a second wife. I just don’t know. Everything about his strange behaviour now all makes sense.”
Kessel met Toure, whose brother Yaya also plays for City, outside the Bijou nightclub in Manchester in September 2010. “He started chatting me up and we swapped numbers,” she says.
“Then he gave me a lift home. The next day he called me and we met at a hotel. I told him he looked familiar and he just said maybe he looks like somebody. He said he sold cars in Africa and did some charity work.”
At least Toure wasn’t lying about his charity work – he is an ambassador for Save The Children.
Kessel says: “He said he came from Ghana and was a student too. He said his father was a minister. I am not a fan of football. I thought maybe I had seen him on telly with his father.”
He called her again within a fortnight and they met in the same hotel, the Malmaison in Manchester. “He bought me some sexy white lingerie and black shoes,” says Kessel. “We started kissing and ended up doing it.”
Kessel claims their relationship was on and off until December of that year.
“We would go a week without seeing each other and then he would call me. Sometimes we would meet twice in a week,” she says. “I asked if he had a girlfriend and he said no.”
Kessel Kasuisyo
But devout Muslim Toure had been with fiancee Awo for at least nine years. The couple live in Manchester with their daughter and son. When Toure – who joined Man City for £16million from Arsenal – suddenly stopped calling Kessel in December 2010 she thought it was the end of their brief fling.
But nine months later, after she had moved home, he called her again. “He asked if I wanted to meet up and I told him I had my own flat now,” says Kessel. “He came around in a big car. He was wearing a cap and big sunglasses.
“I told him it was my birthday and he asked me if I would wear some of the stuff he bought me so I got dressed up and we ended up in the bedroom.
“The next time I saw him he bought me a birthday present. He got me a gold watch and some 18-carat diamond earrings.
“He used to call me constantly but from a private number so I couldn’t call back. I was suspicious, but he said he didn’t want me to waste my money calling.
“He once gave me £500 to send to my mother in Zimbabwe. Another time he gave me £200 for food because my fridge was empty. I started to question him about exactly what he did and he would say just selling cars. Things were on and off. This January he asked me to be a girlfriend but said he was going back to Africa to do business.”
Kessel said Toure, banned last year for six months by the FA for taking his wife’s diet pills, broke off contact again between January and May this year. When he got back with Kessel, she had no idea he was weeks away from getting hitched. “He said he had something special for me,” she says. “He called me Princess and turned up with a £1,000 diamond and ruby ring.
“It wasn’t an engagement ring but he said it was symbol of how he felt. He went down on his knee and said he was really serious about me.
“He really got to me. I started telling my friends about him. But whenever I asked to take his picture he refused which I found a bit odd.” Yet Kessel managed to snap him off guard. In June Toure went back to Africa and married Awo at a mosque in the Ivorian capital Abidjan with his brother Yaya as best man. Official photographs showing a tearful Toure wearing a white suit were released to African news websites
Kolo Toure's wedding to Awo
Kessel still had no idea her new man was anything but a very successful car salesman.
Weeks after his wedding, “Francois” was seeing her back at her flat. “He told me he wanted me to go to Paris and said he would meet me there,” says Kessel. “I told him before I did that I needed to meet his parents.
“But he said I should give it time to talk to his parents because I am not a Muslim and they would expect me to be with a Muslim. I believed almost everything he said.” But eventually she got fed up with his secretive behaviour and hung up on him during a call in September. He hasn’t been in contact since. Kessel says she only found out the truth a fortnight ago when she showed a pal some of the snaps she had managed to take.
“She said I should go on Google and type in Kolo Toure. It all came up – Manchester City, the wedding pictures to his long-time girlfriend. I felt a fool. I now understand why he used to hide his face and use a private number. I want to make sure he doesn’t do it to anyone else.”
In an interview in 2005, Toure spoke about his excitement at becoming a dad and said he loved relaxing with his partner and family. And last month, on a visit to a school in Ivory Coast where he is a hero, he said: “We are role models. The way I behave is the way the children will want to be.” A source close to Toure said last night: “I have spoken to Kolo and he is denying ever knowing or meeting the girl.”

In a country where the average Nigerian citizen has no electricity, no water, no safe means of public transportation, and where the National police have neither cars with which to arrest and transport suspects, nor the energy to do so when they are suffering from hunger and anxiety, hyper-defensive Nigerian President Umar Yar'Adua lets his 13-year old son and his little friends run amock with guns, piles and piles of cash and a wide array of flashy cars and Power bikes at his disposal

Longest coma patient ever passes away after 42 years.

The world’s longest coma patient, a Miami woman who had been called the ‘Sleeping Snow White’ during the 42 years she remained comatose, has died at the age of 59.
Edwarda O’Bara was a cheery high school student in 1970 when she suddenly fell ill, threw up her medicine and slipped into a diabetic coma.
But before she became comatose she turned to her mother and pleaded with her to ‘promise … you won’t leave me.’
Her mother stayed true to her word, enduring a grueling schedule to constantly stay near her daughter until the mother died five years ago and the woman’s sister became her primary care giver – until Edwarda passed away on Wednesday.
As a popular 16-year-old, Edwarda had a bright future ahead of her but then she became ill with a severe bout of pneumonia.
In the early hours of January 3 in 1970, she ‘woke up shaking and in great pain because the oral form of insulin she had been taking wasn’t reaching her blood stream,’ according to her family.
She was rushed to hospital and as she lay in her bed, she turned to her mother, Kaye O’Bara, and pleaded with her to stay near.
‘Promise me you won’t leave me,’ the teen begged her mother, according to the Miami Herald.
Terrified, O’Bara assured daughter, ‘Of course not. I would never leave you, darling,’ having no idea of the long ordeal ahead.
The mother kept that promise, taking care of her daughter, until Kaye O’Bara herself died five years ago.
For more than 35 years, Kaye O’Bara remained constantly by Edwarda’s bedside, enduring a grueling schedule to give her daughter around the clock care.
She would only sleep for 90 minutes at a time, so she would always be accessible to her daughter.

The devoted mother would not institutionalize Edwarda, even though the financial burden became a great challenge to the family.
Though Kaye died at the age of 80 on March 7, 2008, she never gave up hope that her daughter would one day wake up from her coma.
Edwarda’s father, Joe, had passed away in 1977. He died from a heart attack, believed to have been brought on by the strain of caring for his ailing daughter.
After their mother’s passing, Edwarda’s sister Colleen stepped in and continued the tradition to offer constant care to Edwarda at her home in Miami Gardens.
Colleen quit her previous job as a horse trainer to care full time for her sister.
‘I didn’t give it a second thought. She’s my sister,’ Colleen O’Bara said, ‘and I love her.’
As part of her care, her body was turned every two hours to keep away bedsores, she was given insulin and fed through a tube.
Colleen would also lovingly braid her sister’s grey hairs, suck the mucus from Edwarda’s throat to allow her to breath and constantly speak to her sister, assuming Edwarda was soaking up her every word.
She mixes baby food, milk, eggs, orange juice, Mazola oil, brewer’s yeast and a piece of white bread into a blender and then a wire mesh strainer, pouring the concoction into Edwarda’s feeding tube every two hours, day and night.

She suctions mucus from Edwarda’s throat, whispers endearments in her ear and braids her long gray hair.

“Mourinho is not my chairman, he is jealous” – Mancini.

Roberto Mancini, has reacted furiously to Jose Mourinho’s comments, after Manchester City were dumped out of the Champions League. The Portuguese had claimed that if he was in Mancini’s position, he would have been sacked the next morning.
“Mourinho is not my chairman. He is not my owner. What Mourinho said is for me not interesting. Mourinho wants to talk about everything. For me, it is not important,” Mancini said.
“Sometimes it could be (jealousy). But I will not stay here 20 years. In this moment, I am here and we are working well.”
City’s next game is on Sunday against Chelsea, who have just replaced Roberto Di Matteo with Rafa Benitez. Mancini will be hoping to extend their unbeaten record at Stamford Bridge.
“I don’t know the Chelsea owner Abramovich,” he said. “All I can say is I am happy to work with my owners and chairman. They are good men, they understand.
“They know it is impossible to win every game. When we lose, they are disappointed like me, or the players. We can’t be happy; we went out of the Champions League.
“But we are not Real Madrid, Manchester United, or Bayern Munich, who used to win every year for 100 years. We are Manchester City. For 35 years we didn’t win; in two years, we won three trophies.”
Mancini also spoke about Benitez. He said: “I know him, not very well. He won trophies in Spain. In England, he won a Champions League with Liverpool.”

Fake Weddings: Dutch Woman, Nigerian Men Receive Jail Sentences In UK.

Diana Olivieira
A 45-year-old Dutch woman has been jailed for four years for organising nine sham marriages, involving Nigerians living in the United Kingdom.

Diana Olivieira flew the brides over from Holland to the North West for the ceremonies.

They all married Nigerians so that they and their partners could take up residency in the UK.

She was sentenced at Manchester Crown Court after pleading guilty to conspiracy to facilitate non EU persons into the UK.

Olivieira was arrested at her home address in Rotterdam and brought to the UK on 25 July.

Investigations by the UK Border Agency found she travelled from Holland to the UK several times with her clients.

Flights were arranged for Dutch nationals to visit the UK for short periods.

As people from the Netherlands are entitled to live and work in the UK, while here their spouses applied for documents and National Insurance numbers.

After they married, the Nigerians applied for European Economic Area (EEA) residency status as spouses of EEA nationals.

Dave Magrath, from the UK Border Agency, said: "The sentence handed to Olivieira sends out a clear message that we will not tolerate abuse of our immigration system."

Six of the grooms and some of their partners have been prosecuted and received jail sentences totalling 17 years.

JOSHUA, ANOTHER CANNIBAL: I Sold Human Parts To Churches And Ritualists.

JOSHUA

November 21st will ever remain indelible  in the heart of Oloko villagers as members of the palace guard to the community leader of Ajara Topa community in collaboration with a vigilante group operating in the area arrested a man who allegedly eats and sells human parts to ritualists, operating from a hole he dug under the Gbaji bridge along the Badagry-Seme border.

Joshua Akindele, 56, who hails from Etokia Local Government in Ogun State was spotted by one Anthony Amos who watched him crawl into a hole under the Gbaji bridge, confessed that he had been into cannibalism and ritual killing for the past 15 years, after being introduced to the business by a friend who convinced him to stop driving popular motor cycle known as "Okada" which he claimed  profited him a little, but could not sustain him.
He further said that he had been earlier sent to prison for 5 years after raping a 17-year old girl.

Speaking with Crime Guard, Akindele confessed that he was  the brain behind the incessant killing within the village using  ply woods to hit his human prey, and dragging them into the holes before splitting their parts for food and business… with ritual buyers.

When asked how he carried out his activities, he confessed "Whenever I see somebody walking alone without being conscious of who is watching, I walk slowing up to them and  hit them with a big ply wood on their heads after which they fall unconscious, I then drag them into the hole and use a knife to cut them into parts which I sell to some churches and some ready buyers who indulge in ritual killing for easy money, and some times when I feel hungry  late in the night, I eat some parts for food.

He confessed further that he sells the parts as follows: Heads 7,500, breast 1,500, penis 1000, hands and legs for 3,500.

Amos who is a member of a vigilante group in the area alerted other members of the group and palace guards of the Baale of Ajara Topa community to monitor the movements of  Joshua.

He told Crime Guard that at about 1 a.m on 21st of November, he was on his normal routine watch when he noticed him (Joshua) crawling into the hole with a rice bag, he quickly alerted other members who confronted him with a gun and ordered him to drop and open what he was carrying. Crime Guard visited the palace of the Baale of Ajara Topa community,  Chief Samuel Amosu Owolabi, who after  confirming the incident told Crime Guard that he was sleeping in his palace when an emergency call woke him with the caller informing him that a man had been arrested by members of his palace guards in collaboration with members of the vigilante group with human parts.

Chief Samuel said he quickly called Chief Patifo, Baale of Iyafin whom his community shared the bridge with to accompany him to the scene.  When he got there, he noticed a mob had begun beating the suspect and only stopped after he begged them to let him live so that proper investigations will be carried out by the police.

Crime Guard confirmed the suspect was in the custody of the Badagry police division from a police source who pleaded anonymity.
