                                         Patience-Ozokwor
Here is the message from organizers of NEGA.
The complete list of those to get honors at the Nollywood @ 20 E Golden Awards NEGA holding in Germany to honor those who have contributed to the growth of Nollywood, Nigeria’s most impressive cultural export has been released.
The list which includes top actors and actresses, top directors and producers including Okey Ogunjiofor, whose film Living in Bondage is credited to have kick-started Nollywood, Peace Marie Anyiam Osigwe CEO of Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA), Amayo Uzo Philips, (Creator of Aki and Pawpaw) Obi Emelonye (Producer of Last Flight to Abuja), Patience Ozokwo a.k.a Mama G, Ramsey Nouah, Charles Inojie, Jackie Appiah, Cynthia Agholor amongst others. Also included in the awards nominees list are Dorothe Werner former Berlinale Talent Campus Directress, Zik Zulu Okafor President of Association of Movie producers (AMP).
It was gathered that from the streets of Torino, Italy, Paris, France through to Antwerp, Belgium where road shows are planned and the major cities in Germany where the finale is set, the buildup is on that every one, Africans and their European friends alike are talking about NEGA.
The weeklong show seeks to honor contributors to the growth of the Nigerian film industry including top actors and actresses, producers and directors from not only Nigeria but from Ghana and Cameroons and other African countries.
Speaking recently, Isaac Izoya, the man at the top of the entertainment company organizing the one week ceremonies explained that the “importance of Nollywood to the world should not be emphasized as UNESCO has recorded it long ago as a cultural export that has worked wonders in telling the real African story and we must do all within our means to celebrate the 20th anniversary. There is no celebration that we do about Nollywood that is too big. If we do not celebrate our own then who will? Several people want to ask why the show is taking place in Europe and nowhere else and I dare say that Nollywood is still a growing industry and it would be difficult to take the entire machinery from Europe to Africa so we bring the show from Africa to Europe where we all have an already established system that is working very well. Since we started the integration shows in 2003, Germany has played a very interesting and major role for Nollywood stars. The choice of Germany for the Nollywood at 20 awards ceremonies will be building on already existing structures in making Germany a rewarding promised land for Africa film makers”.
Izoya, an awards winning actor, entertainment promoter, the President of Ehizoya Golden Entertainment e.V and journalist further said he has support of The Faces of Africa Essen, Germany, Global Shipping GmbH,  Dorothee Werner former head of Berlinale Talent Campus and a strong supporter of Nollywood, African Youth Foundation, organizers of the prestigious Adler Awards, Janero Consultants, an international business consultancy outfit with interest in Africa adding that the celebration which starts December, 1st with Adler Awards in Bonn, Germany will terminate in December, 8th with NEGA gala nite.
Venue; EFES FESTSAAL, RIEDINGERSTR 10, 45141 Essen, Germany
It would feature film shows of Nollywood classics, a symposium on Nigerian films in Berlin with a lecture on film funding by a World Cinema Fund representative talking on the issues of funding with visits to the Nigerian Embassy in Berlin and an excursion to Europe’s top film village.
Also of important note in the entire plan is the Nollywood Diaspora Talent Hunt competition which seeks to discover new stars for Nollywood, a hunt that has already started with contestants jamming the website (www.ehizoyafilms.com) seeking to register to participate?
