Fabrice Muamba Whose Heart Stopped For Nearly 80 Minutes In March Marries .

Former Bolton Wanderers midfielder, Fabrice Muamba is getting married to fiancée Shauna Magunda today.

The retired footballer whose life is a testimony after his heart stopped for nearly 80 minutes during a match against Tottenham Hotspur in March where he suffered a cardiac arrest grew up in Walthamstow and went to school in Markhouse Road.

Despite hoping he would be able to continue his playing career, the 24-year-old retired from professional football in August on the advice of a heart specialist.

Muamba will wed Shauna Magunda at a Chesire castle today, with the doctor who helped save his life, Andrew Deaner, of Barking Havering and Redbridge University Trust, expected to be in the congregation.

Fabrice Muamba is said to be in high spirits and eagerly anticipating a new status as a married man. He said via Twitter yesterday: “One more day to go now.”
